What are saved TikToks?
When you save a TikTok video, you are adding that video to your “Saved Videos” collection within the TikTok app. Saving a video on TikTok is similar to bookmarking or favoriting content you like – it allows you to easily find and re-watch videos later.
Saving a video does not download it or allow you to directly share it with others. But it stores that video in a private list only visible to you, under your profile. You can scroll through and play your saved videos at any time without needing to search for them again.
TikTok does not notify a creator when you save their video. Saving is anonymous and just meant for your own personal use. So you can save any videos you enjoy or find helpful, to build up a collection of your favorite TikTok content.
Why save TikToks?
There are several reasons why people choose to save TikTok videos:
- To watch later when you have more time. Saving a video allows you to easily find and watch it again even if your For You feed changes.
- To share with friends. You can send saved videos to friends or post them in group chats.
- To reminisce and re-watch favorites. Saving special videos lets you relive funny, meaningful, or inspiring moments.
- To use as a reference or inspiration. You may want to refer back to tutorial or informational videos or keep stylistic videos for inspiration.
- To curate collections around topics or moods. Saving videos allows you to create custom playlists around themes.
- To avoid losing access. If the creator deletes the video, you’ll still have access to your saved copy.
Saving the videos you love gives you control over your viewing experience on TikTok. With your saved videos easily accessible, you can watch, share, and engage with content on your own terms.
How to save a TikTok
Saving a TikTok video to your device is easy. Simply open the TikTok app and find a video you want to save. Tap the share button at the bottom right of the video, then tap the bookmark icon. This saves the video to your “Saved” section in the app. You can also save a video while it’s playing by tapping the bookmark icon at the bottom right.
According to WikiHow, when saving a video directly in the app, it will not save to your camera roll or device storage. The video will only be accessible in the “Saved” section in TikTok. To save it externally, you need to tap the share icon and then “Save video” before sharing to another app like Photos.
Finding your saved TikToks
To find the TikTok videos you’ve saved:
1. Go to your profile by tapping the “Me” icon on the bottom right of the screen.
2. Tap the bookmark icon in the top right corner of your profile screen. This will open your “Saved” page.
3. Here you will see a feed of all the TikTok videos you have liked or deliberately saved. You can scroll to view your full saved video collection.
The “Saved” page operates similarly to your main “For You” feed, allowing you to like, share, and comment on the saved TikToks. You can also organize your saved content into categories to make it easier to find specific videos later.
If you are having trouble finding your saved TikToks, double check that you are logged into the correct account. Your saved videos are tied to the specific TikTok account you used to save them initially.

Saved TikToks List
Your saved TikToks can be accessed through the “Saved” tab on your profile page. This tab shows a scrolling feed of all the videos you have saved using the “Save” button on TikTok.
The saved videos feed looks similar to your regular For You feed, with thumbnails showing a preview frame from each saved TikTok. Tap on any video to watch it again. You can scroll up and down to browse your full collection of saved videos.
At the top of the saved videos feed is a search bar. You can use this to search for specific videos you have saved by keyword or username. This makes it easy to find a particular saved TikTok if you have a lot archived.
On iOS, the saved videos feed also has a filter button in the top right corner. Tap this to filter your saved TikToks into categories like users, hashtags, sounds, and more. This provides another way to organize and search your saved collection.
So in summary, your saved TikToks live in the Saved tab on your profile. They display in a scrollable feed just like the For You page, with options to search and filter to easily find your favorite saved videos.
Organizing Saved TikToks
TikTok allows you to organize your saved videos into playlists to make them easier to find later. To create a playlist, tap the “Profile” icon in the bottom right and go to “Saved.” Tap the “+” icon in the top right and select “Create new playlist.” Give your playlist a name and description.
You can now add saved TikToks to your playlist by tapping the bookmark icon on videos and selecting your playlist name. Your playlists will appear in the “Saved” section for quick access. You can create multiple playlists to categorize saves however you prefer.
Another way to organize saves is by adding them to your Favorites. Tap the share icon on a video and select “Add to Favorites” to bookmark it. Your Favorites will be listed separately in the Saved section for easy reviewing. Favoriting is useful for highlighting your very favorite videos.
Organizing your saved TikToks into playlists and favorites helps you locate and rewatch videos more easily. It also allows you to curate collections around topics you like.
Privacy settings
When you save a TikTok video, it’s visible to you and anyone else who uses your account by default. However, you can make your saved TikToks private so only you can see them.
To make your saved TikToks private:
- Open the TikTok app and tap the “Profile” icon in the bottom right.
- Tap the menu icon in the top right and select “Settings and privacy.”
- Tap “Privacy.”
- Under “Favorites,” toggle “Private favorites” on.
With private favorites turned on, the TikTok videos you save will only be visible to you when viewing your favorites. Other people using your account won’t be able to see your saved videos. According to TikTok’s help article, this gives you full control over your saved video privacy.
You can toggle private favorites off at any time if you want to make your liked videos public again. Just follow the same steps and tap the toggle off.
Deleting saved TikToks
If you want to remove videos from your saved list on TikTok, there are a few ways to delete saved TikToks:
In the saved videos tab, tap and hold on a video thumbnail until a menu pops up. From here, tap “Delete” to remove that video from your saved list. You can also swipe left on a video and tap the trash icon to delete it.
To delete multiple videos at once, tap the select button at the top of your saved videos list (it looks like a square with a check mark). This will allow you to select multiple videos, then tap the trash icon at the bottom to delete all selected videos.
You can also tap into a saved video, then tap the bookmark icon at the bottom to “unsave” that video. This removes it from your saved list.
If you want to delete all saved videos at once, go to your profile, tap the 3-line menu button, choose “Settings and privacy,” then “Clear cache.” This resets your saved videos list.
According to TikTok’s help article, saved videos may be automatically deleted after 60-90 days of inactivity https://www.tiktok.com/discover/My-saved-tiktoks-keep-deleting. So if you notice old saved videos disappearing, this automatic deletion may be the reason.
Troubleshooting Issues With Saved TikToks
Sometimes saved TikToks may not show up properly in your account. Here are some common issues and potential fixes for them:
If your saved TikToks are missing from your account, first try rebooting the TikTok app and your phone. This can often resolve temporary glitches. Check that you’re logged into the correct account as well.
Videos may fail to save properly if you have connectivity issues while saving them. Make sure you have a stable internet connection, and try saving the video again.
Your saved videos may not display if you have reached TikTok’s limit on how many videos can be saved per account. Try unsaving some old videos you no longer need to make room for new ones.
On iOS, check that TikTok has permission to access your photos – this allows the app to save videos properly. Go to Settings > TikTok > Photos and enable access.
Sometimes, logging out of your TikTok account and logging back in can reset any glitches. This will force the app to reload your saved videos list.
As a last resort, you can try reinstalling the TikTok app if troubleshooting steps don’t work. This will completely reset the app and your saved videos should reappear.
If you continue having issues with missing or not loading saved videos, contact TikTok support through the app for further help troubleshooting.
Tips for saving TikToks
When deciding which TikTok videos to save, it’s best to be selective and intentional. Only save videos that you’ll actually want to watch again later. Consider saving funny videos that make you laugh, informative videos you may want to reference, creative videos to get inspiration from, or any other TikToks you find genuinely entertaining, interesting, or useful.
To avoid cluttering up your saved TikToks, try setting a limit for how many videos you save per day or week. For example, you could decide to only save 5 top videos per day that stand out to you.
It’s also a good idea to periodically review your saved TikToks and delete any you no longer need. This keeps your saved collection focused on your favorite videos.
Some other tips:
- Save videos from creators you want to follow.
- Bookmark videos on topics you want to learn about.
- Save videos you may want to watch with friends.
- Curate fun videos to watch when you need a quick laugh or mood boost.
By being selective and purposeful with which TikToks you save, you can build an amazing collection of your favorite videos to enjoy again and again.
